I am so excited to share with you guys my latest project. As I was sitting at home typing at the kitchen table last week I thought to myself
man I wish I had an area for working on my blog. It would have to be a makeup room basically as my blog is a beauty blog after all and
what makeup junkie does not want a room dedicated to just makeup and beauty products….Uh no one that’s who! We all want it. I bet if
we polled 1000 makeup junkies we would get 1000 yes’. So here was my solution. I have a large walk in closet in my bedroom that is a
wreck at all times. I use it to store things and generally throw my dirty clothes on the ground and all that slobish behavior.  Well the closet
is my answer. I emptied it out and am turning that into my makeup room and office. I doing this with just stuff I already own. I am going to
post a DIY beauty closet guide as soon as the project is complete. It is well underway at this point and should not be much longer’ I know
many of us can not just afford to go out and purchase a fancy vanity and custom lighting or we don’t have living spaces with extra room’s
for this sort of thing. I want to give you guy’s an alternative that you can try to not need to spend a fortune on it. So stay tuned for the
upcoming post.
Where do you put on your makeup in your house? If you are a blogger where do you usually do your blogging?

If you are like me and adore M.A.C’s back to MAC program AND have way too many lipsticks then you will need to get yourself a lipstick palette. The palette I am going to show you today is my first lipstick palette. It has served me well. It holds 12 lipsticks. I need to either make another palette or change to a bigger palette. I am considering trying out the Japonesque 35 well pro lipstick palette for $32.00.I have not purchased it yet because of the cost but I really like the look of it and I need the space.

O.K. onto my current lipstick palette. It is actually a bead organizer and was purchased on Amazon.com for only $4.39.You can get it here

http://www.amazon.com/12pc-Clear-Bead-Storage-Display/dp/B007QV0B1E/ref=sr_1_3?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1368906232&sr=1-3&keywords=12+bead+storage

This is my palette as it looks now.

Basically what you want to do is grab one of the empty round jars and remove the lid.Grab your lipstick and roll it all the way up…Find some kind of long skinny utensil to get all the lipstick from the tube and place all of this on a paper towel for easy clean up. Here is my set up. The lipstick I depotted here was Makeup Forever’s 506. #506 is a Matte intense red. The shade has been discontinued unfortunately.

My set up

My set up

I think this is pretty self explanatory but just in case somebody does not know I will explain. Roll up the lipstick and use your toolto cut off the top and place it in your bead container. Then use the tool to scoop out the inside of the tube. There is a LOT hidden inside the tube. Place that inside your bead container as well. Put the clear lid on and remove the sticker from your lipstick and place that on the bottom of your bead container. You now have one labeled depotted lipstick. YAY! Some people like to place the lipstick in a large spoon and melt it or place it in a microwave safe container and melt it that way. I do not. I find that it changes the consistency of my lipstick whenI do that as well as you run the risk of melting the bead container like the one in my picture below. Here are pictures of my depotting of the Makeup Forever 506 and my completed lipstick palette. Enjoy…

I hate to say I am a lipstick snob….but I sort of am. Now I am not proud of this. I know that I don’t need to spend $15+ on a lipstick for it to be a good lipstick. I guess there is just something magical about opening my purse and pulling out a beautiful tube of MAC lipstick and perfectly applying it at my desk that I just love. I’m hooked on MAC lipsticks. However, this review has nothing to do with that. A couple of months ago I spotted this gorgeous blue based fuchsia pink lipstick and thought wow that’s an amazing color. Could it really be as good as my more expensive lippies? Well I have put it off for a couple of months but this morning the color was calling to me as I opened my lipstick and gloss drawer. So let’s get to the review shall we.

I applied this lipstick to bare lips at 9 am this morning. I am not one to use lip liner except on rare occasions. When I do I always reach for chanel  lip liner. They make the best in my opinion. Anyway it applied smoothly. It did not tug at my lips at all. It goes on with a glossy finish and has small silver glitter that is not too overpowering luckily. The color is as it looks in the tube amazing! It is slightly deeper then I usually wear but still a very nice wearable shade for me. I LOVE bright look at me lips.

Around noon I looked in the mirror and it had worn to a faint stain and needed reapplying. It had only very slightly bled into my fine lines. Nothing to drastic or anything. I re-applied and that lasted with the same end results for about another 4 hours before I again had to reapply it. If you look at the color of this lipstick in the pictures at the bottom of this post and then head over to my MAC Embrace Me Lipstick Review you will see that the colors look very similar. Eucalyptus being slightly deeper with a creamier texture and glossy while Embrace Me is more matte  but still very close. So if you missed out on MAC’S limited edition Embrace Me you may want to pick this up instead. For the price there is no reason not to.

My overall opinion of this lipstick is that it is a really fun color and has a nice finish. I noticed no smell at all. The wear time is a little short compared to my higher end lipsticks but for the savings I suppose that applying a couple extra times a day is tolerable. I really love how the lipstick has a nice sharp point to it. I love that and always have preferred a sharp point to my lipsticks. If you are not bothered by reapplying every 4 hours or so then I would recommend giving this a try. The formula is really quit good. For the price and feel of this lipstick it is definitely a good deal. You can pick this up from NYX for only $4!!! Get it here.
Onto the pics now.

Urban Decay does it again. Every palette I have ever owned by Urban Decay has been a hit in my book. I picked up the Vice Palette for Christmas last year and have pulled it out a few times but it has mostly sat unused in my makeup drawers. A shame I know. I thought to myself this morning as I was getting ready that I really should do a review on it. So I got my butt in gear and got to swatching.

My number 1 complaint with this palette is that the outside case is IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean. As you will see in my pics. I can deal with it though because the quality of the shadows is as usual with Urban Decay amazing! The palette itself is stunning to look at. All those colors….Neutrals and brights mixed into one amazing perfect for travel palette. I do believe this is a gift from the gods…

O.K. lets talk about application. For a base I always use the same thing . Either a MAC paint pot or Urban Decay’s Primer Potion. Lately I have used my MAC Paint Pots exclusively. So most of the shadows in this palette apply smooth and blend like a dream. With the exception of Jagged, Muse and Provocateur. The 3 I just named are great as well but they do contain large chunks of glitter that for some will bother them. For me it is a non issue. I always apply my shadow BEFORE my face makeup. Thanks Wayne Goss for getting me in the habit of that!! That allows me to wipe away the fallout without ruining my foundation and the rest of my face makeup.

As for the length of wear that these shadows provide I am able to apply my eye makeup at 8 a.m. and when I come home at 6 p.m. in the evening my eyes are as fresh as  when I applied my makeup that morning….Pretty freaking awesome. I have left my eye makeup on till 10 p.m. just to see if it would last that long and guess what? It did!

Blending is not an issue at all. I am able to blend my crease out perfectly to whatever look I desire that particular day. As for pigmentation these shadows perform amazingly well. As you will see in my swatches there are only a couple that lack pigmentation and those colors are the lighter shades and so it may actually not be a pigmentation issue at all but rather that the shade is just a lighter shade. The Urban Decay Vice Palette is sadly no longer available as it was a limited edition item. I did not even realize that they were no longer being sold intill I started to write this review and wanted to supply a link for purchase,

This is an amazing Palette and if you can get your hands on one you really should. It will be a welcome addition to any makeup junkies collection for sure. You can shop Urban Decay here http://www.urbandecay.com/

Lets get on to the swatches shall we…

Vice Palette

L-R Desperation, Muse, Jagged, Blitz, Penny Lane

Vice Palette

L-R Junkie, Chaos, Occupy, Unhinged, Black Market

Vice Palette

L-R Provocateur, Rapture, Vice, Noise, Armor

Vice Palette

L-R Nevermind, Echo Beach, Anonymous, Freebird, Laced

STANDOUT SHADES: BLITZ, CHAOS, UNHINGED, VICE, NOISE, NEVERMIND, ECHO BEACH AND LACED….

Those above are my top faves from this palette. I am now going to show some pics of the rest of the actual palette. I will also show the brush. The brush it comes with has an all over shadow end and a blending end. It is a rather decent brush for a palette to come with. Especially if you think of the dinky little sponge tips Dior provides. Someone tell me what is up with that!

You can see all the finger prints on the outside of the palette. That is hard to prevent with this material and can not really be helped. All in all it does not really bother me though.

Here are pics of todays eye look using Blitz on the lid and Muse in my crease.

THIS REVIEW IS MY OWN HONEST OPINION AND PRODUCTS MENTIONED WERE BOUGHT WITH MY OWN  MONEY. I WAS NOT PAID FOR THIS REVIEW IN ANY WAY.

HAVE A GREAT NIGHT  EVERYONE AND PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.

WHY THE SILENCE???

WOW! It seems like it has been forever since I have visited Ramblings and written a post…My apologies for my tardiness…. I have several exciting posts on the way. I was lucky and won a Instagram contest. The prize will be a prize pack from BHcosmetics. I am a lucky girl.LOL. As soon as the package arrives I will be doing a review on the items. I also won a twitter contest from a lovely UK based company that does personalized clothing. It is a one piece summer outfit they call a onsie. It will be gray with rhinestones and my initials on the front and I chose my twitter name for the back as my web address is a little long.LOL. I also will be reviewing the URBAN DECAY Vice Palette very soon. AS well as Cravebox soon too.

I am very interested to know what you guys want to see reviewed? Drop me a line with your best ideas and let me know what you want to read about….

I know this is a beauty blog for reviews and beauty tips and advice and I promise that my next post will be just that, However lately I have been a flood of emotions with what I feel has been a successful start to this blog.(that’s my opinion only) The ups and downs with my personal relationship(which seems to be up,the last couple of hours at least..) and what I call the beauty blogging community. I have been very blessed to come across some really great bloggers that have been very supportive. Shout out to theinsideoutbeauty.com, check her out she rocks. What is on my mind though is that i have always loved and followed several beauty bloggers. My faviorite by far I read on a daily basis. I may not have commented a ton but i followed her closely. So when I decided to start my journey here at ramblings she was the first person I turned too. I had this idea that she would give me a few pointers and tips and at least a couple words as to what it was like to start her own blog. So I nervously wrote the email excited as all get out about what tid bits of knowledge she would give me and pressed send. For a couple days after I checked my inbox regularly and found nothing… I am still checking my inbox and have still found nothing….To say the least I was upset and disappointed and a little in disbelief. I know this may seem petty to you that I would be upset but the success of a beauty blogger really depends on the readers of the blog. If people don’t read the blog will usually die off a slow death. What is my point to all this you are probably thinking. My point is that if we can only support each other and the new ladies coming in to this community we will all benefit and be stronger together. I delayed the start of this blog due to that incident. I started out here very worried and not as excited as I had been before that.My experience has been that when a someone hits what they consider to be the big time in the blogging world then they no longer want to have anything to do with advice and supporting the incoming community. That is really sad to me. I want ramblings to be a place anyone can come and ask anything and always get support. If a fellow blogger asks me to share a link to there blog then why not? I am going to stop this here because it really upsets me that the people with the audience to really help promote a fellow blogger will not do so. With one link or one tweet they can take a blogger from undiscovered to hundreds of views a day. I don’t want this to be a rant sorry if it seems like one. MY POINT IS SIMPLE LETS HELP SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER. Any fellow blogger that wants to do a link a exchange with me I would be happy to.

What do you think about this? Do you think successful bloggers should reach out to the newbies? What would you do?

Wow is it really Friday already? Time flies when you are having fun they say and boy am I having fun. Let me just tell you beautiful blogging world that you are my secret little escape…I come here when I am all alone and everything is quiet and spend time just me and you. I love it. It feels that need I have deep down inside to be part of some great thing. To me this is a great thing. The ability to connect with people and share my love with them. When I am frustrated at work or at home and I think that I can not stand a moment longer in this average world that does not understand the importance of beauty and all it is and can be I just think to myself that soon I will be here with you awesome people who get me and get that beauty is amazing and that with a few products and a couple brushes we can achieve greatness….Oh how I wish the people who do not know what it is to look in the mirror in the morning and see a plain girl looking back at you and then in just a short time look back at that same girl and see an artistic masterpiece in the same mirror. This is the same girl…Only now we see the beauty that was always there waiting to be brought to the surface.  Anyone can have and feel this…Regardless of age, race , weight, what color hair and eyes you have. You only need to open your heart up to power of beauty and let yourself feel free to bring that girl to the surface.

I often come here and look for comments because I want so badly to connect with the people who read my posts. I want you to know me and me to know you. I want to share in your discoveries. I want to share with you mine. I read blogs that have thousands of followers and comments and I think how lucky that blogger is to have made the connection. I am not doing this to get rich or get free stuff. I am doing this because I genuinely want to know you guys and I really want to share with you when I find an amazing product or a great deal. If you are reading this post please leave me a comment and tell me a little about yourself and what you would want to read about on ramblings? I would love to log into wordpress tonight and see lots of comments. You guys would make my day!! So please comment, share and follow…Together we can make this small corner of the web something magical..A place where anyone can come and talk about the things that the non beauty obsessed do not understand….Lets make this something great.

XOXO

My top beauty products do change from time to time so this is my top products of April 2013. My number 1 can’t live with out beauty product would have to be my trusty Z palette. Anyone who does makeup professionally in any fashion will benefit from owning 1 or many of these. There is nothing quite like an afternoon spent depotting products and seeing the end results of your favorite items neatly stored in a Z Palette. The space you save is amazing. Here is what my Z Palette Pro looks like. It is currently housing some MAC blushes and a MAC MSF in Whisper of Guilt (lovely by the way).

Must have #3 is actually a double as I could not pick just one. Trust me you need both! Of course I am talking about Urban Decay‘s Naked Palette and Naked 2 Palette. Both give you an amazing array of 12 neutrals that are buttery soft and a dream to work with. You can do so many amazing looks. I could literally work out of either of these palettes every day and not get board for years. That is an amazing feat for any company. You get all these beautiful shadows at only $50 for each Palette. A steal if you consider the amount of product you are getting. I am not going to swatch these as I don’t have enough room on my arm for all these colors LOL. You can find a ton of swatches on google images. RAMBLINGS GRADE: A+

It really makes my lashes look incredibly full and thick. Of course being a beauty junkie I know the value of a great set of false lashes and I do wear them often but on the days that I don’t  want to deal with my falsies I reach  for this awesomeness in a tube!!!! As it gets hotter outside my desire for a full face of makeup and false lashes begins to dwindle a tiny bit.(but only a smidgen) I can still be found more often than not with a full face.  The sun will never defeat me!! I may be hot enough to be admitted to the hospital for dehydration and my foundation might have relocated to my breasts but I will be DAMNED if I give up my glorious flawless full face of makeup for the 2 good hours I can still squeeze in during the heat wave. I will never be the girl who is OK with just tinted moisturizer…

Please comment, like and follow. I would love to get to know my readers and for you to get to know me.

What are your go-to beauty must haves?? Is there 1 thing that you just cant live without??

Beneath the Makeup

What do you do when you have invested years in a relationship only to discover that it seems to be a dead end? If you hold on to the bitter end(and it will be bitter) you can pretty much guarantee that you will not end as friends.

So this seems to be my reality. I never did a proper introduction post on this blog. I do believe it is time to go beneath the makeup and touch on the real me. I am 32 and have for the last 3.5 years spent my life with an amazing woman whom I fell in love with almost instantly. We have weathered a few storms. We are blessed beyond measure to be the parents of our amazing 2 year old son. Somewhere along the lines we stopped being a couple and just became parents. Both sharing the common desire to make our son as happy as could be. All the while growing further apart as a couple. We no longer connect on any level other then as parents. There are no kisses and hugs goodbye. There are no butterflies….My greatest regret…

So when the breakdown occurs what do you do? Do you hope for the best and spend year after year unsatisfied? I miss the feeling of being held and being desired. I miss laughing with her till my cheeks hurt…I miss my friend…I miss being happy at home.

What would you do?
