If you are like me and adore M.A.C’s back to MAC program AND have way too many lipsticks then you will need to get yourself a lipstick palette. The palette I am going to show you today is my first lipstick palette. It has served me well. It holds 12 lipsticks. I need to either make another palette or change to a bigger palette. I am considering trying out the Japonesque 35 well pro lipstick palette for $32.00.I have not purchased it yet because of the cost but I really like the look of it and I need the space.
O.K. onto my current lipstick palette. It is actually a bead organizer and was purchased on Amazon.com for only $4.39.You can get it here
This is my palette as it looks now.
Basically what you want to do is grab one of the empty round jars and remove the lid.Grab your lipstick and roll it all the way up…Find some kind of long skinny utensil to get all the lipstick from the tube and place all of this on a paper towel for easy clean up. Here is my set up. The lipstick I depotted here was Makeup Forever’s 506. #506 is a Matte intense red. The shade has been discontinued unfortunately.
I think this is pretty self explanatory but just in case somebody does not know I will explain. Roll up the lipstick and use your toolto cut off the top and place it in your bead container. Then use the tool to scoop out the inside of the tube. There is a LOT hidden inside the tube. Place that inside your bead container as well. Put the clear lid on and remove the sticker from your lipstick and place that on the bottom of your bead container. You now have one labeled depotted lipstick. YAY! Some people like to place the lipstick in a large spoon and melt it or place it in a microwave safe container and melt it that way. I do not. I find that it changes the consistency of my lipstick whenI do that as well as you run the risk of melting the bead container like the one in my picture below. Here are pictures of my depotting of the Makeup Forever 506 and my completed lipstick palette. Enjoy…
Do you have a lipstick palette? Do you prefer it over individual tubes? Will you be depotting after reading this? Please share..I love to read your comments…..
